Blinn delaying until 10:00 a.m
TAMU delaying until 10:00 a.m.
Allen Academy delayed until 10:00 a.m.
Navasota ISD - Closed
Franklin ISD - Closed

Personally, I don't really want a bunch of bus drivers with no ice driving experience hauling kids on those roads out in the county.

From CSISD Facebook page (posted at approx 5pm Monday):

"CSISD transportation will check the roads tomorrow morning to determine if there is a need for a delayed start for school due to icy road conditions. A determination will be made and communicated by 6 a.m."

Saw that. Why wait though? TAMU, Blinn. Bryan ISD and most surrounding school districts have delayed until 10 AM.

Their decision to make a last-minute decision is a real disservice to parents and teachers that work for CSISD.

Agreed. Hopefully, with the evening KBTX headline story being about tomorrow morning's likely poor driving conditions, they'll make a decision well before 6am. My high school student wants to know if she has to get up early in the morning or not.

This
Bryan ISD initially said they would make a decision around 5am and then went ahead and delayed citing " allowing parents to plan ahead"
They took into consideration the parents and their teachers, faculty and staff.
Great leadership on their part

CSISD... nope

Exactly.

These decisions need to be made the night before so that students, parents, faculty and staff can prepare ahead of time.

Either delay or don't. Make a decision. Making every person this affects wake up at 6am just to find out if they need to get up or go back to bed is just plain wrong.

Due to icy road conditions in certain areas, College Station ISD schools will delay the start of classes by two hours on Tuesday, January 12. Buses will run their normal routes, but they will start two hours later.

Elementary schools will start at 9:45 a.m., and intermediate, middle and high schools will begin at 10:25 a.m.
