Hunter vs Harbor Breeze -- any advice pro or con? This one would have to run
about 18 hrs. per day. Every day!

Hunter all the way!! Harbor Breeze was installed throughout our house when it was built. I less than 5 years all of them had stopped working and were replaced with Hunter. We leave some of them on continuously to keep air moving. They are all still going strong. We won't buy anything other than Hunter. In the long run, they are worth the extra money spent.

We've had both with very few issues, and we're running them 24/7. I will say the Hunter is a little more substantial, so the extra weight may help in keeping the sound down.

Harbor Breeze in my experience. Hunter is a name only now IMO.

If you really want quality , get a Hunter Original. About $400

It is cast iron and the air movement is what a ceiling fan should be.

Harbor Breeze , normal Hunter, they are all the same. Blade pitch is about 11 degrees. That is all the motor can take.

Amazon says those are $0.78-$0.94 an ounce.

Humor aside, thank you for the recommendation. I am checking them out.

We moved into our house 28 years ago, and the cast iron Hunter in the living room has been on the whole time, only switched off twice a year to reverse direction (and occasionally to vacuum). Superb mechanism.
