I don't think that has happened locally with this wave.

There are times when hospitals go on divert and can't take any patients.

When my youngest son was born, the NICUs here in town were full and he had to be transferred out to Austin.

There are plenty of examples of hospitals that have had to transfer new covid patients to other hospitals or even hospital districts. Even to other states. Once you are full it doesn't matter what the next ICU patient is.

Agreed. But it's the same on their dashboard, node site, and FB infographic. I'm guessing this is a correction due to their typical sloppy reporting?

I don't really think that many people got tested the first day though.

I'm not sure which test results that are conducted at TAMU testing sites are reported to BCHD (only Brazos County residents?). There has been lots of previous discussion on this topic. Even so, it's seems much too fast to have them already posted. The TAMU dashboard only has results up to August 21.

I don't, either. I just thought it might explain higher than usual (but not that high)

Excellent news if it isn't a clerical error.

Younger patient ages may mean shorter ICU stays to stabilize and send home?

Or hanging on longer in the ICU before passing away. Unfortunately both are possible.

Reasonably well written article addressing current Texas hospitalization trends. First 2/3 seems spot on, but digresses at the end.

They adjusted yesterday's total tests to 302,414, which means there should have been 2,119 tests reported yesterday, They messed up then fixed it. That's a little progress, I guess.

Oops, my bad. That was Monday's total - they took yesterday's post off altogether. So it was 2,119 tests reported for Tue and Wed combined if the my math is correct.

Yes, if you look at the numbers I posted yesterday, there were 16 fewer ICU Covid patients yesterday than the day before. I think it's more likely that someone didn't report something correctly than 16 people left ICU/hospital.

I can see them leaving a clerical error showing an upward trend.

Not a downward trend.

i'm sure this was discussed some several dozen pages back, but..

the "probable cases" number is people who have tested positive for the antibodies, right? is that determination made from the results of a regular COVID test? i.e. someone gets tested and there are 3 possible outcomes: positive, negative, and negative w/antibodies?
