let's hope the recent smaller numbers represent good news. I know with students out of town that helps but i'm liking the trend

So much for our dip. Lol.

Just kidding, it will continue to trend down as kids filter home.

The test numbers? Likely.

They refuse to say when they are from, they just report them randomly.

So? Every now and then there have been days like that, and most of the students are leaving or have already left town.

And did you notice the number of total tests? Between the numerous walkup locations, and the drive up events in the last week or so, there is no surprise they'd find more cases.

Thanks for keeping the spreadsheet updated. Even though there was a jump in positive tests today, I am happy to see the 'last 7 days % positive' rate decreasing. The Region N hospitalization numbers are trending down as well.

here is, at least part of, the answer to FlyRod

20 from a cluster likely at some sort of senior care/living facility. Skews the numbers away from the 20 somethings.

Pretty high numbers for the 50s and 60s as well. Wonder the story on those?

Likely the ones who were visiting the nursing homes/assisted living centers

Co-morbidities escalate in this age group.

I live close to St. Joesph's in Bryan and I saw Sunday about 7 helicopters flying from St. Joseph's in about a 34 hour timeframe. Herman Hospital and Methodist out of Houston were 2.

Not sure what you're driving at.

Are you saying the co-morbidities cause them to get sick?

Or

They are are risk wrt outcome?

If the former, I'm not sure I'm buying. If the latter, I think potentially prematurely presumptuous. I know some damn fit 50-60 year olds.

I live close as well and this seems like pretty normal traffic.

I took it to mean the latter.

Every age bracket is going to have some damn fit individuals; but the older one gets, the more likely he/she is to have some kind of comorbidity -- high blood pressure, hypertension, whatever.

OK, but we already know this. Why point to it as a point of emphasis? It's not a new-found revelation, just more doom and gloom.

This is FR's general posting trend though, so one should not be surprised.

But his answer didn't do anything to answer why that age range had an increase in cases.

actually, he wasn't.

I asked the question. He responded with a known fact that didn't answer the question in any way.

Fair enough. Really all of the answers to that question (including mine and yours) were speculative. The constant policing of responses by a couple of posters in particular generates way more derailments than any "doom and gloom" posters.

Fly Rod answered a question asked earlier by another poster. It may not have answered it to your satisfaction, but that's what he was doing.

I pride myself on both my thread derailments and my "doom and gloom" posts.
