The BCHD has also said they will include test results from schools and university administered tests in the daily numbers, but they will not break it down into which results come from those tests, and which ones are the tests conducted by medical facilities.

well i think we have a consistent enough baseline of 10-20 cases a day for the regular community so if and when it shoots up to 30-50 I'll know what's community vs school spread.

Almost as impressive is the 92.77% recovery rate (Recovered/Cases) , which I hope will continue to grow.

Any thoughts on reconfiguring the spreadsheet if and when TAMU cases become available? Separate columns?

Especially if almost all of the cases appear in the under 30 range.

One possibility is we won't see much of an increase, because many college age people already had it (most being asymptomatic or very mild symptoms) so it can no longer easily spread among them.

Unless A&M announces the test results independently of the BCHD, we won't know how many cases are from A&M testing. The BCHD isn't going to distinguish between A&M tests and tests from medical facilities. All will be lumped together into the daily number.

Ah ok. I thought I read prior that A&M tests would not be included.

It's very possible at one time they weren't (they're still not including jail/prison cases in the numbers), but they announced today they will include the school testing results.

Ah cool. Thanks for the clarification. Would still be useful to know if any spikes are student or non-student driven but that is what it is.

We'll have to infer from the numbers if there is a spike. Should be easy base on age range.

Rapier & Lockett, this might be useful for you in updating your data, unless TAMU cases are included in the local health dept. releases for certain.

What a bull**** subheading..."400 have tested positive since February..."

Is that even relevant to today? Feels like they just wanted to post a "big" number.

On a related note - thanks for posting and I am hoping we included campus numbers in the ones we have been following here.

At least A&M is going to put out their own test result numbers since the BCHD can't be bothered to split the daily numbers and tell us how many come from A&M testing.

As for KBTX, if they're not trying to be CNN on politics, they're all in a corona fear porn.

Maybe the spread sheet can add a separate TAMU column?

I agree the "since February" is not helpful for present situation. Data should begin when (roughly) student move ins started.

Ummmm. NO!!

Last Thursday we had 40 cases, today 26. The last 7 days cases (104) is the lowest since June 5th.

However, with the return of students and the increased testing by the university, an increase in positive cases should be expected.

Expected though. They should rise as people have more contact with one another. What we need to see is a steady trend of hospitalizations either maintaining similar levels or dropping and death rates remaining roughly where they are.

We need to see that the virus isn't killing people at the rates people thought it would and let the hysteria die.

But after reading that report and knowing that side of the fence, we are definitely in for poorly written, ill-informed articles designed to create fear.

It's the only thing he ever posts on this thread.

People who think the only acceptable number is 0 need to realize it is not going to happen.

And for those who might flag this; my comment is in no way intended as any kind of personal attack. It is merely a statement of fact as to the only comment Phil posts on this thread.
