My photography guild is looking for a non-expensive place to hold a monthly meeting... normally there are less than 10 people at a meeting... averaging around 5 people or so...

but having few members, they have little income to spend on a meeting place..

and they've tried to have them at a restaurant, but they don't like that option because everyone was more interested in their food than the speaker..

just seeing if there is anything available.

Firehouse University let's you rent once per quarter for free. Also Ohillips has a small room that is free as well. But the other bigger room off the restaurant is low price.

College Station FD Station 6, Station 3, and Station 5 all have community rooms. Free to use, certain guidelines and information should be on their website.

Parker Crossing in downtown Bryan would probably be down if you offer a bar minimum or small rental. https://www.downtownbryan.com/parker-crossing

Library has already been mentioned.

Some banks have a community room that they will let groups use free of charge, especially if you have an account with them.

um. no... we talk about how to make money...

its a professional group, and topics are usually marketing, customer relations, stuff like that.. sometimes its really advanced lighting, posing, etc..

for portrait/wedding/etc photographers..

forgot to mention that most meetings can go up till 9:30.. library closes at 8,. so a place that will be open till late,

What about a casual bar? There's a lot of bars in town where I think you'd be able to sit around a table in the evening and carry on a conversation.

Chicken, The Corner, The Tap, etc.

Have the meeting in your house, charge $30 a head for the meeting.

Be sure to include this as a new idea about how to make money in the photography business

Are any of them students on Campus (TAMU or Blinn)?

90% of the classrooms are vacant in the evenings. And they tend to be free (although parking might be an issue)

I believe the city has, or did have, a room at the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater, they called "The Green Room." Might check wit the parks department.
