I have seen a few posts on Facebook about a mountain lion or cougar in the Wixon Valley/ Kurten area. Can anyone confirm this? Our dog has been missing for a week today from the Tabor area, and we are hoping this was not his fate.

We have bobcats and gray foxes around here, not mountain lions.

Are you allowed to kill them?
My husband was running pre dawn hours in Williams Creek when he saw them. They probably do live out in Lick Creek.Buford T. Justice said:
I was exploring the wooded area behind our house a couple of weekends ago. I was showing my son how to follow animal tracks, and how to use the imprint to generally tell you the type of animal that had passed.
As I was looking around, I saw one print that I could have sworn was a cougar, just by shape and size. If it was a bobcat, it would have had to have been the biggest bobcat that I've ever seen.
For reference, this was very close to Lick Creek Park.

Big cats have been seen in South College Station.
Let's see them, because everyone knows somebody who's seen them yet not any proof has ever been posted.redass89 said:Wendy 1990 said:

This. I've personally seen the pictures on the game camera of someone who run cattle near the river bottom in Wellborn. They had a calf killed last year.
Sorry, my husband was running without his phone and he was more concerned about getting the heck out of dodge than documenting it. He stopped running back there at dark because of the encounter.BQ_90 said:Let's see them, because everyone knows somebody who's seen them yet not any proof has ever been posted.redass89 said:Wendy 1990 said:

Again don't take my word, go ask those on Outdoors, many who are professionals in this field
So then he's not really sure what he saw then. Which is the case 99.9% of the time when a "big cat" is spotted in this area. Again don't believe me, go ask on the outdoors board about confirmed cougar sightings in the BCS, well grimes co too.Wendy 1990 said:Sorry, my husband was running without his phone and he was more concerned about getting the heck out of dodge than documenting it. I just ran past a pack of either wolves or coyotes on Williams Creek Dr. (Main Street). They were down in the creek bed and my headlamp picked up their eyes looking at me. I'd say 8-10 sets of eyes.
Tha'll get the HR up.
