What would it be, and do you think it would be successful here?

My top places I would take a risk on would be:

1. Portillo's (Chicago hot dog chain that has multiple locations across the nation)

2. Cowboy Chicken (started in the DFW area I think)

Going to Portillo's in Chicago last year, the atmosphere was great and family friendly. I could see it attracting both the college crowd and families. The food was amazing and it was very reasonably priced. I think it would be a hit, but places like Harold's and Dat Dog didn't quite work out here. Maybe a chain that's more famous would be able to be successful here?

Living in DFW for 5 or so years we enjoyed eating here. The fire roasted rotisserie style chicken and sides were awesome and unlike anything you can get in BCS. I also think this could be successful but the chicken game is already pretty saturated here.

What would you guys take a chance on here in BCS if it were your money?

Arby's in Bryan

I would love to see them come back into Bryan. They were in the Taco Bell location by Bryan High for several years. A lady that worked for Arby's said the only reason they closed was that Taco Bell gave Arby's a fortune for that location. They always had good food and service. I ate there quite a bit. They had great specials like 5 Arby sandwiches for 10 dollars. Also, ate at Arby's in Richardson a lot. Good choice!
And maybe a Johnny Rocket's or a James Coney Island.

+1 for Taco Bueno. Fast, fresh, and delicious!

+496 for Waffle House. College Town + cheap, tasty food + 24 hrs = success!

Not fast food but I would open a Captain Bennys. A place that knows how to cook fried catfish and shrimp unlike the Ship Wreck.

Dave and Busters - they sell food so that's my choice. That place would absolutely kill it around here!

Never heard of them. I think hot dog places are an era of the past.

I think CS is saturated with fast food places.

The restaurant chain I'd bring in would be Maggiano's.

This place got mismanaged into the ground. It still had tasty ice cream, solid food, and a great location. Under better mgmt and another solid location this could definitely do well here.

Sticky chewy chocolate ftw btw

I'd go higher end and put in a Houstons. Bury the Cheddars that has gone to heck since corporate took it over. The Houston's on Kirby and the one on Beltline in N Dallas still kill it after 30 years.

The Swensen's was very well managed by the original owners for the first 6 yrs.
It was an award winning store. Upon sale, the last 20 yrs was poor management and the franchise
went to making the ice cream elsewhere and delivering to the store vs,. made 40 quarts at a time in the store.
Yes, stick chewy chocolate was the best ever at 14.1 % butter fat.

Agreed. I'm old enough to remember previous mgmt. Everything about the Culpepper location was awesome. Then all of the sudden old mgmt out, new in, and it all went down hill.

Taco Bueno and Dave & Buster's would be great.

Houston's is awesome if you're over 70.
