Sorry to see it go.

I will admit that I haven't shopped there much since the last 1990s - went there all the time back then. But, I still liked to go there on occasion.

The company will still be around - but considering that they are shutting down so many stores, it's probably just a matter of time before they are completely gone...

That's a store I've never been in.

No editorial... just stating that.

That leaves two empty spots in that shopping center. Pier One and Charming Charlie.

We would go there once a year to get our annual Christmas tree ornament. Guess that's part of their problem.

Somebody should reopen in that space and call it Pier 2.

Always the comedian...

Arrived in town for A&M in fall of 1990, when Pier 1 was in front of Toys R Us.

Never set foot in that place.

Man. Pier 1 was close to downtown Bryan when we started graduate school at TAMU in 1970. Back then it was the local outpost of the counterculture, as much as anything in Central Texas could be back then. While not what you'd classify as a "head shop" it was the go-to place for windchimes, incense, and posters of Hendrix and Jim Morrison. They will be missed.
