Living outside of town, I see lots of houses with smallerish home internet towers. Can anyone tell me who I need to call to price these things?

I dont have the numbers handy. Send me an email and I can send you contacts for 2 guys.

There is a guy on craigslist that has screwed over a few of our customers so beware.

BrazosWiFi's referrals are straight on good folks. Listen to them.

Ballpark $2000 for a 50 foot, $3000 for a 75 foot last I checked couple years ago.

You can actually order your own online for about half that, but then you get to put it together.

The shipping is what drives the price. Isp supplies stocks rohn 25g locally for about 115$ for a 10ft section. Tx towers in Plano gets 119. The target price for good used sections at ham conventions is around $60 section. 25g will get to 40ft with a house bracket and minimal base and 50 with a light load without guy wires. All the loading info is available online. I think $2000 should get you a bonded and insured installer and all materials for a 50ft rohn 25g tower. But I usually do myself with friends from radio club and provide bbq and beverages.
I think most local installs are overpriced but not a whole lot of installers to choose from.

Visit a local radio club. Most are getting older but if you have the manpower there likely would be plenty of experience to help you buy and direct you to safely erect towers. Two clubs in bcs, Bryan http://www.bryanarc.org/ and a&m http://w5ac.tamu.edu/. Also clubs in brenham, navasota, Huntsville and others.
Also they likely have tools like gin poles and tower Jack's you will need and could likely borrow instead or rent or buy
Bryan meets next Saturday at red Cross I believe.

Before spending all of that money on a tower you may want to try LTE based internet first. Where I live I get much faster speeds and latency than I could with a tower and a WISP.

Like anything, if you have the tools, time, and knowledge, you can do it cheaper. Without all 3, it ends up being dangerous and costly.

This. I use a 100' tower at my place. Jim knows his stuff and will always shoot you straight.
