First goto is Brazos wifi, but a 60' tower is not an option at my place (and price). Are there any Internet providers who use 900Mhz antennas which can punch through a few trees?
CEO is another option but their only available tower is about 10 miles away. The 900Mhz connection was there, just a little unstable because of the distance. (Brazos Wifi tower is about 5 miles but wrong tech).

Thanks.

I'm sorry we can't reach you without a house-tower.

900mhz is a very poor delivery frequency for today's internet needs. We still have a few customers on 900mhz but they are limited to 2mbps because of the limited channels available.

900mhz worked when people occasionally got online to check email or the news. Today's needs demand high capacity equipment which require line of sight.

Where are you at in the county? We werent able to get Brazos Wifi, but we were able to get Rise Broadband. They had a tower closer that didnt go through/over as many trees for the area I'm in.

agreed. trying to use a 900mhz connection for much more than checking your email will likely be frustrating

Get an unlimited data cellular plan. Several threads on here discussing that option.

I had the same issues as you, and ended up with an enterprise level LTE modem with unlimited internet, no carrier aggregation, and much faster speeds than WISPs. $65/month and equipment costs much less than a tower. Here's the best thread to check out...

So far, these services work. At some point in the future, the cellular companies will put their foot down and turn off the services offered by the folks referenced above.

As long as the consumer is aware that some day the service they use will be turned off, I am all for these unlimited cellular plans.

We use some of these for remote monitoring and they work well enough.

Very true!

I'm always worried it will get cut off and I'll have no option but to go back to Rise... Fingers crossed it makes it until low latency satellite is an alternative.

Thanks for the ideas. Can't wait till starlink goes full operational.
Have sorta unlimited cellular, but service is kinda spotty so 900Mhz would be better than that. Not looking for gig speeds here, just a steady 5-10Mb would make me happy.

Understood. Don't be surprised when 900 cant deliver 5mbps. The band is trashed.

I get 1 to 2 bars and sometimes none with just a phone and no booster, but I get full bars with a directional antenna connected to a LTE router pointed at the tower. The antennas have 15db gain, and I have a direct line of sight. Constant 5-10Mb should be pretty easy IMO.
