Just goes to show you what a better job the George Bush paving is from the Texas Avenue paving. The George Bush Drive concrete section, completed prior to the library's opening in 1997, has held up great for years and only now is showing definite signs of age. Texas Avenue was barely completed less than a decade ago and already has chunks of concrete missing, especially southbound between George Bush and Manuel.

Appreciate the info. I wondered which one would come first. From the renderings, it certainly appeared like Bush/Welborn was going to take more time and require more phases. My guess is they will close GB/wellborn right after football season and hope to have it back open by the following season. They need the extra capacity on 2818 to handle the traffic issues closing bush/wellborn will create.
