Up 10% still below true market value, they make a big deal of property tax relief and the only people that get that are the old folks

Up 9.2% this year. A little peice of required information at the bottom of the page says its gone up 46.79% since I bought it in 2014. Jeez.

Edit: it's also higher than the estimated market value on Zillow.

Go dispute it, then they will just double your increase next year.


My friends in Indian Lakes value year to year looks like a yo yo, up down up down, how can they fluctuate 10-15% in value at the tax office up one year, down one year, up again? Like they know the market THIS WELL.


Mine was homestead capped last year so I just got the rest of the max I missed out on last year.

The part the taxing authorities NEVER discuss is when a property has a change in classification like the 3 new car dealerships, that land was Ag exempt paying no tax,(with infrastructure in place) now hundreds of thousands of dollars of tax roll in including business personal property tax on all the new cars, a lady down my street passed she was 95 paying a total tax bill of 900 bucks the guy that bought her house is now paying 6000 a year It cannot continue at this pace

Up $10,000 but still lower than what houses are selling for around me and my house has more amenities and square footage than those

So it sucks, but i dont have a leg to stand on to appeal.

Lot values went up approximately 58% in Duck Haven with an average structure decrease of 8-10% What is the end game strategy for them doing this as the plus/minus is close to offsetting?

Went from $388,000 to $421,000. Biggest single year jump I have ever had. This is the first year that I think that it might be appraised for more than I could sell it for. It would be pretty close.

Nice that it arrived the same day that I paid the IRS a big chunk of change.

As bad as it is for all of us it is going to be tough to win. Case in point the house down the street from me was up 11% and it just sold / closed in Feb. actual sold price was 28,000 more than the new CAD appraisal. They have access to MLS data and with Texas being a non disclosure state to me that is not fair. So of course never fill out the silly form on their website and that they mail to you asking for the price, they don't need it anyway because they have all the data they need in the MLS.
