How long do you want to ignore this user?
Hi,

Do hospice nurses and home health typically only work 8-5 and of course on call? I'm on nights now and am interested in hospice but don't really like the 8-5 schedule.

Thanks!

When I worked hospice, that was typically my schedule.

what kind of nursing do you do now? I wish I felt I was at my ideal "calling" position, but I'm not.

I'm "retired" currently. I'm staying home with my almost 3 year old.

I've done trauma, critical care, hospice, and I was the director of an Alzheimer's assisted living.

Hospice was closest to my heart but I love the rush of trauma and critical care.

If I were to go back, it would either be hospice or a clinic setting because that's what would work best for my current life situation.

Hospice Brazos Valley has an inpatient unit that may have other hours available.
They also usually need weekend or night nurses. When I worked hospice those were allways the hardest shifts to fill and the 8-5 nurses would have to fill in.
