Is there anyone in town I shouldn't go see? LOL

I know medical care can be hit or miss in CSTX.

I see Dr. Derbes at Central Texas Gastroenterology. Can't recommend enough.

I think all of the doctors there get pretty high remarks.

If he's still around, Dr. Charles (Charlie) Moore. Just realized how you phrased your question. I WOULD use Dr. Moore.

I would not see Dr Moore - misdiagnosied me. I love Dr Pham & Derbes. Dr Pham is also my husband's Crohn's doc.

Derbes is my Crohn's doctor. I feel your husband's pain.

Another vote for Dr. Derbes. Might take a while to get in as a new patient.

I was a medical device rep back in the day. You really get to see and hear a lot in that role. Dr. Derbes is a good choice.
God's Peace,

Well, had the procedure done, and it went alright for the most part, nothing major. I think the issue that's bothering me is that I called their office multiple times over the past few days with no answer. They were very helpful and attentive prior to the procedure, but now can't be bothered. My wife and I had our first baby at this hospital, too. I have mixed feelings with this location. Yes, it has some good doctors, but it's really hit or miss. I suppose that can be said for just about any hospital. My wife and I don't work for any employer in the area (work remotely), our family is here, we're Aggies, so that's why we relocated (although thinking of relocating elsewhere). We're definitely in the upper echelon in regards to salary and profession, so we're willing to pay more for quality care, but that doesn't exist. I have a concierge doctor in Austin since I couldn't find anyone worth my time here in town. It's a real shame there aren't better options for medical care in the area. I guess that's typical of a college town. I will say we've seen exponential growth since we've been living here, and I think that's a contributing factor, not enough medical availability. The city cannot keep up, and it's become a real mess everywhere in town, even Bryan. Also, I've noticed a shift in culture and politics, too (more liberal, less conservative). I think A&M may be changing as well. Got too big too fast.

That's a pretty broad brush you're painting with there based on an experience with a doctor. I had 2 surgeries this year (one at BSW and one at CHI-SJ) and they were both excellent experiences.

I don't think you read my entire post. It's my experience based on multiple doctors, as well as having my first child at that hospital. Also, I've tried several hospitals and clinics, including CHI Health. Glad you had an excellent experience. I didn't say the hospital was horrible, just not great. Like you, I'm entitled to my opinion based off my personal experience. I was told the other doctors in the GI department at BSW were unavailable due to the number/volume of patients being seen, so my options were limited. My previous primary care doctor had a 3 week wait. That's ridiculous, so that's why I switched to concierge. I was just sharing my experience. Also, if anyone is looking for a good concierge doctor, PM me. This guy will answer questions 24/7, call you on weekends, run any tests you need, see you at his office anytime. Great stuff! Just wish specialist had something similar.
