There was a ginormous Beto sign on the fence at Barron and Longmire that has been up for the past couple of weeks. I drove by there today and someone (presumably the owner) had three pieces of paper hung up in its place that said "Sign. Stolen. Here."

While I certainly don't condone stealing someone's personal property of election signs like idiots did the Trump signs in 2016, I have to wonder a.) what did the owner expect placing it in a blind spot like that, and b.) why the whole "sign stolen" stuff?

I will stop and move every sign that is in a blind spot. That crap pisses me off. We get it. You are voting for someone. Causing accidents or getting someone killed is not worth the extra 0 votes you are going to get because of your obnoxious sign.

The sign wasn't obstruction vision for drivers; it was on a fence. I called it a blind spot because the owner couldn't see it from his own house.

He should have put a bumper sticker on his car. Those work great and look awesome years later.

Sadly, it happens. I agree about traffic obstruction but stealing it is pretty low.

Some beto fan probably took it because he needed it more at his place.

you might check College Ave north of Stripes. I noticed a huge Beto sign there today that is brand spanking new. Its even on a fence.

I hope the owner had a surveillance camera and caught the perps. Several friends of mine were smart enough to do this, and as a result several sign stealers have court dates.

Unsolicited texting is a much more effective campaign strategy anyway.

While I agree with you, if the sign is on private property you have no business touching it! Maybe kindly ask the owner of the property to move it or have it moved.

Why would you ask the owner of a property to take down a sign, especially a political one? Do you really think he is going to say "I am sorry, I didn't realize you aren't voting for that candidate, I will take it down immediately"? How about instead you recognize it is his property and you don't have any say in what kind of signs he puts up.

Once again, the sign was on the resident's fence, on the corner of Barron and Longmire. It was in no way obstructing traffic or impeding vision

I'm familiar with the sign.

No, it was not in a blind spot.
Yes, it was attached to the fence.
No, you should not mess with campaign signs unless they are an obstruction.
No, this one was not.
Yes, by all means don't read the OP and continue to wow us with your expert knowledge of jumping to conclusions.

Property and business owners can indeed place signs of their choice on their property.

Hot dogs ect has Beto signs all over their place.
I was going there for lunch one day.. saw the signs and kept on driving.

Then again, the fence itself is probably obstructing drivers' view of traffic, if it is typical of most others in that part of town! CS loves to place the white line several feet behind the point where you can actually see if the intersection is clear of oncoming traffic.

Yeah, that place got my boycott in 2016 when he did the same with Hilary signs.

Since he believes in socialism you should go in and ask for a free hotdog. From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Probably stolen as stated by OP, sad regardless your personal belief.

That said, I have a corner lot with fairly heavy traffic.
Every election season folks take the liberty of planting signs there constantly.
None authorized.

They all go in the garbage as soon as I see them.
If the sign was planted, regardless of party, on my property it would be in the trash.

What's funny is that a day ago, there were four pieces of paper, saying Beto Sign Stolen Here. So someone came and stole the piece of paper that said Beto, leaving just Sign Stolen Here? Someone really hates voter choice . . .

Lol. I drove by last night and he had new paper (8.5x11) signs up that said "Who Stole My Beto Sign"

I'm sorry the guy got his stuff stolen, but his reaction is getting childish. What's next? Is he going to make his own Beto sign like little girls make signs for their lemonade stand?

Filing a police report over a free political sign?

Drove by the location of the stolen sign earlier this afternoon. The homeowner has replaced it with another large Beto sign that is hanging in the trees in the backyard behind the fence.

It's not hanging anymore. He actually screwed several 2x4's together and made his own billboard with the Beto sign - conveniently located 10 feet inside his fence!

You know, I felt sorry for this guy because political biases got his sign stolen - now I'm crying from laughter because of how much of a moron he's made himself out to be!

When someone steals a candidate sign out of a yard (or off of a fence), the person who put up the sign in the first place will just make another donation to the candidate and get another sign. So the sign stealer ends up indirectly supporting the campaign. Good job!

The real blind spot is up the road at Decatur and Barron. Just try turning left when the guy in the extended cab pickup has pulled out past the white stripe, blocking your view of oncoming traffic.

I get a chuckle every time this thread gets bumped, as I automatically see it as

Big Ass-Beto signs stolen

instead of

Big-Ass Beto signs stolen.

Get me every time.

No idea. It's within his yard and fence. Apparently, this guy is out there and is a hard core lib and/or old hippy (just like the Planet K guy). He does a lot of "testing the waters" with his signs. From what I understand, his front yard is even worse.

I'd hate to be his neighbors
