We have been watching the introductions of teachers on the charter school Facebook page. I have to be honest, many of the teachers have outstanding backgrounds and experience and qualifications. I am very curious to see what CSISD reveals about the impact of the charter school on attendance in CSISD. A surprising number of our friends and neighbors in College Station (across many neighborhoods) are moving their children to the charter school. Some of them have really surprised me--families I never thought would leave CSISD but who are frankly fed up with the CSISD school board antics. I have heard the music/theater teacher at the charter school is exceptionally good, as is the art teacher. They have also hired some superb teachers in the language and STEM areas. My prediction is that the charter school will become the school of choice for K-8. I agree with other posters here that both CSHS and Consol are good enough high schools that I would be happy if our children were sent to either one. But with all the rezoning (more to come this fall....yay!) and with the challenges at some schools in the K-8 range in CSISD, the charter school looks like it's turning out to be an outstanding option.
Yup. The school board may think long and hard regarding future rezoning if impacted parents have a good option like this charter school seems to be. Maybe they won't be so quick to redraw those lines next time.

I think that, to be very honest with you, I do believe that we should have rightly believed, but we certainly believe that certain issues are just settled.
