That's what we (meaning several of my friends) heard too. Funny how that went from Fedora to Huff.

Pretty careless talking about rumors like this IMO.

"Brazos Valley coach" led to one name being used that I would wager everything I have That he is not involved.
Is there another name out there? You bet. I'm not sure anything positive would come from throwing that name out either though so why do it
fair point, assuming it was all rumor, it was at least a reasonable rumor. During his "off" year the one guy spent every afternoon at football practice at one of two schools, Brenham and A&M consolidated, making it no secret that he would be interested in the gig if one of the guys who already held those positions might decide to seek greener pasture. Parents being parents and drawn the glare of state championship rings and the scholarships that would no doubt be forthcoming for their angels, ganged up in force and rallied to remove the current leadership and make room for the 2nd coming. The man at Brenham had an administration behind him and the parents were told to pound sand, their ill-fated coup de'tat fizzled before it really got started. A&M consolidated however?...not so much. Weak kneed administration decided to go on the full court press to make life uncomfortable for the current boss man of football and the message was received loud and clear, the parents got their man.
fast forward a year, a certain amount of disillusionment swirls around the prodigal son's return, lo and behold, the "other" job that high just might be interested in has become available

it's not much of a stretch

and none of the above is rumor

I'm one of those parents and "some" of what you say is rumor. We had less than 100 boys playing In our HS program the season our previous coach left; CSHS had over/if not almost 100 boys playing on their 2 freshmen teams alone, not counting both JV's and the 60+ kids on Varsity! Many boys quit and did not like playing for our past coach and/or the offensive coordinator. Huff had done an AWESOME job of building a football program, Consol was going in the opposite direction. We wanted to find a program builder.

On another side note Consol fielded 2 freshmen teams, one JV and obviously Varsity. As an entire program we went somewhere around 7-29 as a program (4 teams x 9 games-everyone had a game cancelled at times during the season). I did not include the playoff wins/losses. CS High had 2 freshmen, 2 JV and Varsity. I believe they went 49-1 or 48-2 as a program. BIG disparity and one of the major reasons of wanting a new coach.

As for Fedora, guy is not messiah, but I'm still a huge fan! He is a Program Builder but has never done it at this level. He has never came in and won right away, but generally once his jr high kids start hitting upper levels of HS his record has flourished. That being said, the recent restructuring of our middle schools is going to be a problem with his approach to building a program. 80% of one school are his boys, 20% at another and 50% at another school. This is going to make it hard for either program to succeed and why I'm betting we continue to see our two coaches in this school district look elsewhere. I'm sure Coach Huff sees the same pains in a few years when the Jr high ages reach HS. Right now he has a ton of boys playing HS football and they are some great athletes, along with their coaches.

I get that you have some ill will toward Fedora, but I think most of the parents of athletes are happy with his job and hopeful that he can succeed and make the adjustments necessary. Our next two years we have a lot of skilled talent and hoping we can build a team around that.

Best Wishes

Why would Coach Huff be applying at Brenham after winning a state title at CSHS?

Without commenting upon this specific situation since I have no knowledge whatsoever nor am I interested in having any, lol, anyone who excels at their employment may be contacted by others who may offer them an invite to interview. It happens all the time.

Isn't Brenham, at best, a lateral move and, honestly, a step down in stature from CSHS?

Depends. If you're just a high school coach and you become the athletic director, it's a step up in pay & prestige.
