Red wiggler worms for compost bin. Where to find?

Howdy!

I'm starting a vermiculture bin for my apartment food scraps, and I'm looking for red wiggler worms. The only places I've found so far are either in Garland or Austin, and I'd like to get these guys ASAP, from someone local. Does anyone know of where I could get red wigglers locally?

I found them at Producers when I had a bin. I would call and ask if they still have them before heading over there, though.

my friend raises them, oddly enough...

not sure what he has right now though...

ive sent him a message to see if he has them still. He just moved to iola..

@studioone Yes, thank you! I called Producers and Bait Barn yesterday, and neither of them had any, so I'd be really interested to know if your friend could spare any/like to sell maybe 1 lb of them. Thanks!

Did you ask them for red wigglers? Because they will probably just call them red worms. Same worm, but for bait called red worms, and for vermicompost, red wigglers.

finally got in touch with my guy...

he says to try to get them from www.thewormdude.com

his apparently didnt do too well in the move and the 16 degrees...

he has a few, but he said you should just order from him...
