Google is showing a lot of great bike shops in BCS, just wondering which would be good for a Beginner mountain biker (done with WallyWorld bikes).

Aggieland and Bike Barn are good. I haven't had much experience with the others.

Go ride bikes at each and get a feel for the brands (Trek, Giant, Specialized, etc.) and which shop you feel more comfortable with.

Join BVMBA to get access to additional trails and group rides. It will make you a better mountain biker. Club information is available at both shops.

I've had good service with my bike from BCS Bicycles (on College in the center behind IHOP). I am essentially a hack rider, but I got my bike from them (Jamis) and it has lasted a long time (over a decade) with basic maintenance.

The Bike Barn folks have done some excellent work on my bikes. I'd buy from there were I to buy brand new. I would recommend buying used on Craigslist though.
