I have a feeling that I'm not the only one who has had this scenario:
Our residence is in Texas (College Station). Our vehicle is in Georgia where our son is being treated (cancer).
It is unknown if we will drive the vehicle to Texas in the next few months.
The registration tags (plate) on the vehicle expire the end of this month.
In order to renew the tags, the vehicle must have a VIR (Vehicle Inspection Report) but no one (even the KIA dealer) here in Georgia knows what that is, nor has any leads.
So I cannot obtain an inspection and thus cannot renew my tags online. There is no phone number on the notice I received from TX DMV, and only a "see www.Texas.gov for more information" but nothing on the site that I could find addresses it.
Registering the vehicle in Georgia doesn't seem prudent being that we basically spend most of our time at the hospital onsite and our residence is Texas.
Surely someone out there has had a similar case?
Thanks!
