My parents have a bird that flew into their garage in So CS. They used to have a bird so they had a cage and were able to get it captured. Would love to return to its home!

Isn't a bird's home simply outside, so your parents kidnapped a bird from its bird friends and bird family?

Not sure if serious, but it appears to be a domesticated pet bird.

Well, your OP is lacking important details.

Now I remember why I never post here anymore...anyway, someone on another site is pretty sure it's a green-cheeked conure.

Does it have red on the tail? If not, may be a monk parakeet. They can look similar. And if its a monk it could potentially be wild (well, feral).

Would feral have a leg band?

It seemingly went in the cage and is not resisting. Sounds kind of domesticated to me.

I am not informed about domesticated birds or the one in question, is it possible the winds of Harvey carried it far from home?

Just in case it is way off course, please check Hurricane Harvey - ALL Lost and Found Pets.
Imagine there is a birds album. So many critters missing and found, not reunited.

It could potentially, albeit not likely. I was just proposing the possibility of an alternate scenario. All signs do point to it being at least somewhat domesticated.

Does it have red on its tail? Or is it all green? Do you have any pictures you could post?

I don't know of any sizeable wild monk population in B/CS, but pretty sure there is in Houston, and as another poster said it could have been pushed north in the Hurricane.

I may be wrong, but I believe there are also some migratory populations of Quakers, and the cold front could've pushed some south.

Even if it is somewhat wild, they domesticate fairly easily.

Thanks, everyone, we were able to reunite the bird with his owners!
