Interesting story in The Eagle about a police only shooting range built out at Twin Oaks Landfill. 16 acres with berms and targets and classrooms. Too bad it's not open to the public part of the time, would be a great addition to the community. It's only for BCS officers.

To be clear, the cops can't just go out there and shoot either. It is specifically for departmental training. The only other facility is TEEX, and with RELIS being built up, its future is uncertain.

The Twin Oaks project was an extremely generous proposal made by the BVSWMA Board. I can't read the article since I don't have an Eagle log on, so don't know what all is mentioned, but significant costs were picked up by BVSWMA, and lease costs for the departments is next to nothing.
