I'm done with getting haircuts at salon type places.

Sports clips
Classic cuts
Whitneys

All terrible
I have never cut hair but pretty sure I can give myself a haircut at better quality than I get at these places.
How sports clips stays in business I'll never know.. Went there once.. $18 for a haircut that if you told me a blind person did I would of believed you.

What are some good barbershops for a man to get a haircut at ?

I like Sonny's or Chuy's. Sonny's for the older crowd and Chuy's (Boonville Barber I think it may be called?) for the younger typically. Though both do great jobs no matter what.

I also am puzzled at sports clips. Mediocre haircuts at best.

There is a new barber shop downtown in the bottom of the Old Hotel Bryan building. The Hudson Barber Emporium. Specializing in classic, gentlemen's hair cuts and hot towel shaves. I know of 2 people that have tried them already and were very happy. May want to give them a try.

I've been happy with Tune-up by Mad Taco but they do seem to have pretty high turn over so maybe I've just been lucky to get good workers.

Tune-Up doesn't work for me. Can't make an appointment for a certain stylist. If you walk in and request a stylist, you are at the mercy of their first come first serve policy with their monthly people jumping the line. I went twice. Great hair cut the first time. Got the girls name. Went back and waited two hours when the place was almost empty. I was the next up for her and then a walk in came in from their monthly vip. I was jumped and had to wait for his haircut to finish.

$130 a month is a little steep for the privilege and the services included

Sports clips in Bryan by Walmart
Hands down the worst place to get a haircut.
Couldn't pay me to go there.

In my experience Tune Up was exceptionally expensive for a haircut that would rival Sports Cuts in lack of quality. The stylist (they only had one actual barber for the entire staff) really did a poor job left me with an uneven beard. Sure having a mixed drink is nice, but for their pricing I could very well mix the drink at home myself. I mentioned it to the manager that day and she really didn't seem to care. I've spent more for a haircut at places like Diesel, which Tune Up is copied from, but they had actual licensed barbers who knew what they were doing instead of just stylists.

Sonny's or Chuy's, where you get an actual licensed barber who knows what they are actually doing for a men's haircut and beard trim.

Agree with all of the above. Bobby, Lydia, Douglas, Gene in that order.

FYI, the shop is going to be closing down permanently sometime toward the end of the year (the business up front is taking over their space...). No word yet on where any of them are headed at that point.

4th thumbs up for Mike's Barber shop!

Great service and very good at what they do. They just moved to the shopping center next to fox and the hound, by the old Albertson's I believe.
