Been a known drug dealing spot for years.
It's always sad when things like this happen anywhere.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the body found in the parking lot of CitiTrends this morning. Just a few blocks away.
They arrested the suspect for the CitiTrends killing...
Both murders seemed to have arrests fairly quickly. Good job BPD!
Guy was caught not too far from where I live. Glad they caught him (and yes, nice work too) but still disconcerting.

More to the point - a drug deal that turned into an armed robbery set-up. That is indeed gone bad. It's tough when a dealer can't even trust their customers.
So if I understood the story, a 16 year old had a Glock 27 that he "owned". And the 18 year old had a very cut down illegal shotgun. And they decided to rob the local weed dealer. But they didn't have a car ( you have a Glock 27 and a sawed off shotgun but no wheels, what kind of world is this??) and had to get some HS girls to cut class from BHS to drive them to the park. But they first dropped one girl back at BHS because she decided being in school was the more rational choice over driving some guys to rob a drug dealer. And in all this they were stupid enough to have plain cell phones that had no lock codes to the cops could read all their planning texts?

They don't call 'em stupid criminals for nothing.
This is obviously not true in some cases, but the vast majority of criminals fully expect to be caught. Remember playing hide and seek as a child? If nobody found you within a few minutes you'd cough or knock something over so as to be found. That's the payoff. The bottom line is that criminals don't process information the same way other people do.
