welding goggles may work, if they're sufficiently dark.

Back when floppy disks were a thing, we viewed the sun through the actual floppy disk media.

Look for 12-or-higher lenses if you can find them.

I haven't been able to find any. Kinda surprising. Should've ordered online!

Just be ready in 2024 when B/CS will have a better view and apparently 98% coverage.

I have floppies. Can they really be used to view the eclipse?

I used a harbor freight auto-darkening welders helmet. Had to hack it to run on an IR emitter (TV remote) and when cranked up to 12-13 it was very comfortable to use.

I got this with my old Canon 30D and an even older 35-105 zoom through the lens of the helmet.

I work on a jobsite and borrowed a welder's mask from one of the guys in the field. Pretty cool but nothing like what the folks saw who were in the line for the 100% coverage.
