Awesome. I can't get mine to stay running right now. It cuts off after about three seconds. Could I still bring it to this event?

I'd imagine they'd take a look at it. Could be something easy to fix.

I could have sworn we changed the fuel filters but I do not see that on their list.

Rule out old gas first. dump the old and add fresh. Do not just top it off.

There is a good chance if it is running and shutting off it is the fuel filter or fuel line. The ethanol fuel is tough on the lines. (If there is black rubber in the filter it is the lines)

The carburetor is the next check but that takes a little more knowledge. The jets will clog if fuel sits in them, if it was not run out before stored for the winter.

I recommend bringing a new air and fuel filter and oil filter if it has one. They can swap the air filter out easier than cleaning. It is a fundraiser, I am sure they would swap the fuel filter and oil filter if you tipped them.

I do believe they'd sharpen the blades for you. They're pretty flexible in their work.

Got there at 9:45 am, and there was a light drizzle. For sure, this is a great idea and many people can benefit from such an opportunity.

There are 40 lawnmowers ready to be serviced. I saw about 6 people working. She said it takes one hour to service the lawnmower. I did the math, and decided to leave.

A couple of suggestions for 2018


No electric grinder for the blades since they are balanced. High skill is required for good grinding. Also, this is dangerous.
Torque wrench needed foir putting blades back on
Indoor area for work to avoid rain
Online registration so that work loads and staff can be managed
