Mrs. Duff bought tickets to this year's Hospice Happening Casino Night. Has anyone ever been to this?

Yes, last year. It was at the Expo Center. It was a good date night. I didn't do any of the casino activities I gave my chips to someone else. But they had a dance floor in the middle with the casino on the right. I thought I was doing good on the dance floor until Aggie Wranglers showed up.

RDM does the audio visual and it's great. Got to hang out with the Kbtx folks for a bit. Since some of you on this board are not big fans of KBTX that may not be a good thing.

The food was ok and they had a cool area to make smores.

The seating was arranged by sponsor, I sat at a table with a bunch of my wife's co-workers because my wife's company purchased seats for an entire table. If they keep the same setup you will have an assigned seat.

The big thing it is for a great cause and my wife enjoys going out and we have a great night.

What kind of info are you looking for.

How does the casino thing work?

What is standard attire?

I looked up this years event. It seems to be the same as lat year.

You will be given some chips as part of your ticket price. You can purchase more too. They have slot machines, poker tables, blackjack tables, and maybe roulette and/or craps. I am not sure what you win or how any of that works. I grew up in Northern CA, and my dad went to Reno, NV at least 2 times a month. I was dragged along from about 7 years old onward. So I have no desire to do the casino thing. My wife and some of her co-workers played slots and blackjack. They came back empty handed but had fun.

The Texas Unlimited Band plays a variety of music and does a good job.

Standard attire - I wore nice, my fancy boots, a button up shirt and a sport coat. I think I wore a tie but cannot remember 100%. This was the most common dress. Some people were in suits, but jeans and a sports coat was common with the guys. It was about equal numbers of those with or without a tie.

It wasn't that stuffy and overall a good date night.

Definitely another great year @ Hospice Happening! We had an amazing date night, loved the entertainment, food, casino, band, and silent auction. Can't wait for next year!
