Does this look like St. Augustine Decline?

Do these pics look like signs of St. Augustine Decline (also called Take All Patch)? It looks like there is some sort of iron deficiency, but I don't know if it is due to SAD. I bought this grass at a local turfgrass place, but I don't know what variety it is, so I don't know if it is SAD-resistant or not.

If it is SAD, I want to go ahead and start plugging in a resistant variety into my lawn. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Looks like invisible grass to me. Work filters suck.

Based on my experience, I would say 'yes' that's SAD.

Bring back this classic logoand this classic rival!!

This mouthbq doesn't know this one yet..could be fungus, could be too much water.. Has the ground it is growing in been soggy lately? Is there any pattern to the affected areas..like circles or patches? There are some really good websites on St Augustine that should help..

Looks like SAD to me. If I remember correctly, iron deficiencies show up on the newest leaves first, turn white then brown. If it's the older leaves (as it appears in the first picture) and not turning white, I'd bet on SAD.

Mine does that when it rains a lot, then goes away later.

That said, I don't know what it is.

Mine has done that once or twice, but goes away when things dry up.

It's not fungus (as I'm very familar with fungus)....but I dont know what it is.

Try putting Ironite out first before you go the the hassle and expense of re-plugging. It defenitely won't hurt your turf if it's not iron deficient.

Thanks all. There don't appear to be any patterns of this stuff (circles, patches), but overall I think my lawn has been getting too much water (or rather too frequent, too shallow) over the past year and parts of it have probably stayed damp too often. Plus, I live outside Houston and we have basically gotten flooded in the last month or so.

I will try the Ironite as a first line measure and see if it helps. Do you recommend the pellets or liquid?
