I recently got a nice pit (3/8" steel).

I want to upgrade to a better temp monitoring system, and there are a lot of choices out there. I have reviewed the past threads here.

Wireless vs Wired.
Wifi issues seem to be a problem for many that do have Wifi
Limited range with bluetooth

Some systems are a lot more expensive (fireboard).

Possible solutions:
Meater
Thermoworks Signal
Fireboard
Inkbird

Thoughts? I want something that will work with wifi that I can monitor on my phone. I don't care about fan control. Price does matter.

I use the Thermopro with 4 probes and Bluetooth. Set the alarms and sit back in the house!

Similar here. I have a Thermoworks Signals. Works great for my use.

I have the inkbird and don't really like it. You can set alarms but unless the app is open on your phone, (screen on, not timed out) it won't actually alert you to the alarm.

I've used a few different types. The igrill2 has worked fine for me. I really wish I could get one that had more than 4 probles and I could leave my house and still check in on my temps. I'm sure there is one out there I just don't know what it is.

Man was it good

I use a Govee. It works off WiFi so I can check temps from the other side of the country if needed. I've not found a single Bluetooth one that is worth a flip. I Might as well be tethered to the pit.

Use the ThermoWorks Signals and love it, and trust a lot of meat to it at one time. But if I was doing it new right now, I would look into their RFX system because it seems to be pretty cool tech. Signals is now about 50% what they were now that the RFX system is out, with the RFX taking the top $$ spot for them. If mine ever craps out, I'll probably look that way, but for now it is just flawless and accurate to ridiculous levels.
