Not sure if Dwayne is still running this place. But we've had a few really nice hunts out here. Lodging but no meals included. But nice ranch with exotics and nice WT.

a few things to consider:

1. Do you want high fence/low fence?
2. Are you willing to pay trophy fees, or do you want low fence/flat rate?
3. Are additional animals a goal for meat? Doe or Pigs?

I have been guiding for a ranch west of Abilene for the past 20 years. First class accommodations, great food and atmosphere.

I live in Austin and happy to discuss.

What exactly are you looking for, trophy whitetail, just a good time or a mgmt style hunt? What is your budget per person?

I'd say more of a good time. We would like to get something in the 150" range.

150 range is going to be tough to guarantee without getting into trophy fees.

I've done a few outfitters in the panhandle, and a few in south texas.

The most enjoyable was El Sapo. Its more laid back, and for our hunts we cooked our own food (though im sure prepared is an option).

Magnum Guide Service is also top notch, but much more 'sunday with the family' type of vibe than deer-camp with a beer vibe. Not saying thats a bad thing, just their style. Food was excellent with them.

for a 150 class bunk, expect a 5-6k price tag

Biased but BirdDog is a super efficient way to find hunts / get into hunting.
