A400 owner here.

If I had to do it over again, I would not choose the A400. This decision is solely based on the fact that I have had issues with the foam utilized in the butt stock disintegrating over time. Digging around on the internet has pointed me to the fact that when the foam is exposed to any gun lubricant, it immediately begins breaking down.

I'm having the butt stock replaced and will be transitioning to a dedicated 3" gun. Toying with pulling the trigger on a Benelli Cordoba BE.S.T..

Why would you recommend a defensive minded shotgun for the OP's stated purpose?

Not a gotcha, I'm genuinely curious. I don't own shotguns, haven't used them much, and am toying around with the idea of getting one.
