Headed to the keys in July. Bone and tarpon fishing has been a bucket list item for me for a while. Does anyone have any charter recommendations? Is it common to do a full day charter to go after both, or do you commit to one?

Also, I've never done any big game fishing, nor have I fished for grouper or mahi mahi. Is July a good time for deep water? This isnt supposed to be a fishing trip, but as they say 'when in Rome...'

I appreciate any recommendations and tips.

Can do both. A lot of the big fish will be up north before then, but there are a lot of tarpon there all summer.
