I thought this thread would be fun in order to learn more about OB members.

What are some things that the average OB member wouldn't know about you?

I.e. -

1. I love to cook. I cook a variety of foods, including Thai, Indian, Filipino, and Mexican food. Of course, you have to cook all of those foods here in East Tennessee if you want to eat anything that tastes good.

2. I am a sci-fi nerd. I used to have a Star Trek "Enterprise" phone (plug in the wall). I've watched just about every Sci-Fi series/movie there is.

3. I love (or used to love) playing video games, but don't have any time for that any longer. Still have an Xbox 1, PS4, original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and an Xbox 360 (in which I was playing dynasties of 2011 Texas A&M, who won the MNC 3 years in a row with JFF).


I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Many on the OB know me for fly fishing but I have a few other hobbies.

*Bow hunting- spent years shooting archery equipment and hunting big game. Ran an archery club for a couple of years in NW New Mexico (Four Corners Bowhunters Association)

* Cycling- grew up riding a MTB on the Wasatch Front prior to living in Houston and then attending TAMU. Did a lot of road riding around CS. Looking forward to eventually getting a gravel bike.

*Motorcycles- love riding them! Zoomed around CS for a few years on a Ninza 600 (often on 1 wheel...). Did some motorcycle touring/ fishing with my dad when living in NM and CO but haven't done much since been in Houston. Can't wait to get rolling again soon! Working on my wife's Shadow 750 now and have made my Harley road ready earlier this week.

*Boating- wife has a ski boat that I get to drive around occasionally. Didn't get on the water this summer because of 5 months camping trip but love boating!

So go ahead and update spreadsheets to capture the strange OB cyclist. I know there are more than a few lurking around here!

1. I'm more of a Dr. McCoy.

2. If my wife cooked most of the time, I wouldn't eat as much. I've been cooking since I was 5. My brother and I cooked dinner for the family. So, I'm much better at it.

I am left eye dominant and was left handed, but was actually "broken' of it in kindergarten by an old school lady who would slap my hand with a ruler when I would use my left hand.

People who say "You don't like_____________ because you haven't had it cooked right" are generally terrible cooks. The reason they think it tastes good is they're used to eating shiddy food.

I killed my first animal with my bow at 6 years old (very unlucky piglet) First deer with bow was 7 years old. Seeing kids that old today makes me realize how young I really was. Idk if my wife will be that generous with our future kids at that age. Thanks mom!
