Anybody run blood trail dogs in llano county? Had a buck at the feeder and he ran when hit. Had blood but rain came in. Am I SOL?

Give Dwayne a call. Depending on size of your property and fence type may determine if he's willing to go out there. He's out of Kendalia but if he can't do it he may know someone who can or Atleast give advice.

Was cheaper than others I called but I'm sure they would do well too. 3M charged $50 to show up plus $100 more if they found it. No guarantee like the other guys but he did a great job.

Damn, thats really steep. Several guys on our STX lease have had to call the dogs over the past few years. The guy we use is Robbie Hurt. He's really good (I think he's 7 of 8 on our place) and he's a flat $400.

Same 30-06 I got in high school. 150 gr federal fusion. It's normally too much round for hill country white tail but was glad I had it this time.

I hate panels.

There isn't a logical reason for it. It goes back to when running deer with dogs was banned in TX (late 80s or early 90s I believe) It was primarily done in East TX, as it is throughout other parts of the southern US. Now, I want to be clear, I'm not a fan of it, but it was, at the time, legal.

For those not familiar, it is/was basically driving a deer with dogs. I've never been but a friend of mine told me it often turns into a cluster foxtrot if you have a bunch of untrained dogs.

Then, City came to Country and got it banned. I'm going from memory here but I believe that there was an article about it in Texas Monthly in the early 90s.

In any event, rather than make blood trail dogs legal in those counties, they just kept a total ban. It's not a law that is based in logic.

I like the look of that tracking dog. He looks like a dog I know.
