I got out of work early yesterday and went out to family property in Robertson county. I've been seeing a nice group of pigs roll in to my feeder around 6pm for a week or so and they looked tasty.
I get on property and check zero on my rifle and head to my feeder to set up a GoPro and pour out a bag of "Liquid Luck" that I picked up a case of for $1/ea. I don't think the stuff does anything. Maybe it's too old or something.
I get to my blind 50 yards away and check it for wasps. It looks clear so I toss in the empty bag of attractant, plop down a hunting bag and start opening windows. I almost step on a copperhead after I've been shuffling around in the blind for a few minutes.

Since I was in the blind early, I went ahead and just shot it and tossed it out.
I raked the ground for a few minutes with my tripod looking for any other critters. Felt pretty good that the blind was clear so got settled in.

I swing some water and remember that I am wearing a fitness watch so I checked my heart and saw a nice little spike in the BPM.
I rearrange some things to give me more room to move around. I'm a little jumpy. Every time a stick pokes me I wince, half in fear and half in shame.
The little porkers roll in right around 6pm. I hit record on my GoPro remote as I hear them coming up and got a nice video:
I let them settle in for a couple of minutes before I separate the cute copper colored female's skull from her spine.
After my shot, I sit for another 20 minutes just in case they decided to come back for more. Heard nothing so I get up and check out the pig.

Entrance is a pencil hole right that pierced her ear lobe and entered directly behind the ear.
Exit wound is nice and large. I could just about fit my entire hand inside if it wasn't full of bone shards.
This pig got a 5.56mm 65 grain open tip. They seem to do alright out of my 20" 1:9 barrel and so far the two pigs have been bang flop with a healthy exit. Not sure how they would do it I was hitting leg and shoulder. I tend to keep my shots around the ear.
I pick up my GoPro, and start loading everything up on the 4-wheeler. Last thing to grab is the empty bag of Liquid Luck. Even though I raked the leaves over for several minutes I hesitated and The thought of the copperhead flashes through my mind. I decided to not go get a stick to fish it out and instead snatch it up quickly in case their was another under it. Well, there was. I figure it was deep in the leaves or slipped into the blind at some point. It had been hanging out about 3' from me for some time.

I shoot this one too and lay it out with the first. The second is just a bit darker and smaller. Both are good looking snakes. I'd prefer not to kill them but I am not interested in the hospital bill should I get bit.

Gut and quarter my pig and head home. Nice easy day hunt. Decided that I would like to get a pair of snake boots.
