We were on the road. The momma and cubs were going back and forth from the river to a bison kill that was roughly 50 yds from the road. It was close enough that by the third day you could smell it. They would stay at the kill for an hour or two, wander down to the river and come back The cubs were hilarious. They would play in the mess, rolling around in it.
. Fortunately the location was right down from a main pull off area so there was plenty of parking. Everyone just lined up right on the grass line and quietly watched and took pics. Rangers with shotguns kept idiots from getting out of hand.
The Rangers considered her the most dangerous animal in the park. Momma with cubs on a kill site.
