The wife is wanting a gas fire pit/table combo thing to have on out on our patio. Researching online I see everything that cost $200-to $2k. Curious if any of yall have any recs?

My main concern is something that can stand up to the elements since it will be outside and not under any type of cover. Granted, I would get a cover to leave over it when not in use, but still looking for something that will last.

I have this

It's $200. I bought it and my FIL liked it so much he bought one the next day.

It's hard for a propane fire pit to put out a bunch of heat; just realize that. It will never be comparable to wood, but this is fine for Houston.

The big benefit is how much more we use it. I never went through the trouble of building a fire on a weeknight to only enjoy it for an hour. We sit out next to this almost every night.

We have had two of these (one at each house) and have loved it. If you go with this one though, buy more rocks, the pack it comes with isnt enough to completely fill the box.

The one thing I've learned about outdoor ANYTHING in Houston is that if it's aluminum, it will last forever. If it's steel, consider it to be disposable within 5 years. But aluminum is so much more expensive, that it's often cheaper to keep replacing the steel. Steel is so cheap to replace that it's not even worth it to disassemble, knock off the rust, and then repaint. Guessing that adding fire will accelerate the rust rate.
