One of the bad reviews on academy.com is mine.

"Recently got two of these. They each ate a set of lithium batteries on the first day. I thought maybe it was a bad lot of batteries and tried a set from somewhere else. Same thing. 32 lithium AAs dead in just a couple days."

Unfortunately, I had to return 4 Moultrie AC40s also. They were killing batteries almost as fast.

That's crazy because the i40 we put out has been on the same 8 lithium batteries for a year. Probably has taken 20k pictures. I thought they were pretty close to the same electronics. Good to know though. I was about to buy 2 of this week.

I have one and it has been fine. Havent really noticed my batteries dying. I just use plain duracell.

I know. I have A25s and A35s I've been real happy with.

I have the 550 and bought the 300 a few weekends ago and used it for a draw hunt it worked fine for the day I used it
