OB,

I want to buy something cool that's outdoors related. Not to impress my friends, ladies or anything like that. I just am an outdoors enthusiast and have run out of ideas.

Go!

Great suggestion. I have a SilencerCo Omega and actually forgot I need a .22 can. Will get that ordered.

Keep the ideas coming.

Curtiss Knives F3 in medium size. Buy it directly from him, and he will customize it for you. He is a veteran who also gives a veteran discount, one of the few knifemakers to do so.

If you want a knife but don't want to wait a week or two for an F3, look at a Medford Knife and Tool Infraction in carbon fiber.

If you want an interesting small knife that is not terribly expensive, look at an EOS Prawn in anodized titanium. It is a friction folder that is hell for stout, and fits in the watch pocket of your jeans.

If you want a knife and want something really out of left field, look at the Paragon Warlock or Phoenix. They have a most unusual deployment mechanism. No, I don't have one, and am not going to tell you how they work. You have to find out for yourself.

Or just go out and buy a Casita travel trailer. They attract attention everywhere you go....

I just picked up a Steyr M9A1. My next two OB purchases will probably be a Stribog SP9A1 and a CRKT Provoke.

If you are set on guns and knives, go pick up a dual sport motorcycle and start exploring some dirt roads.

You probably don't have a set of pano's, but everyone needs good NVG's.

This is on the short list.

Thanks guys for the serious and smartass answers! Not a lottery winner, I have no kids nor a wife so I get to focus on toys.

I ended up going with a bakflip mx4 for my F150. Night vision will be my Christmas gift.

Less about budget (although I'm not going go crazy) and more what I see as quality/value.

Buy my house in El Campo

I'd sell it you for 1.5 - 2 times what's its worth if money is no object.

Great duck/goose/dove hunting in the area as well as fishing

And the qual at Greek Brothers are my favorite

(I want to move to Victoria but the housing market sucks there)

Here's your answer then, in my opinion, I'm a WS fanboy though.

You can with paddles, pedal or go all out with the electric motor option

I used to work with Brian. I love their skiffs but I think I'd get more use out of a kayak at this point.

Does not compute. The micro can go pretty much everywhere a yak could shallow wise and will cover way more ground. Plus you don't have to paddle. Only way I'd think a yak could do more was BTB.

Well I decided on nightvision.

I know skelso is the resident SME. What's the best I can get for $1K or less?

Triple that to $3000-$3500 for a good PVS14, helmet, mount, etc. Night vision is expensive due to manufacturing methods and low volume. Anything less than $1k is going to be very disappointing.
