A very close friend's son is missing. They live in Arizona and her 20 year old son was visiting this weekend before he was suppose to return to Camp Pendleton today. He never showed up to base. They had someone run his license plate and he went through a border patrol check point on I10 near El Paso this morning. None of this makes sense. He's a good kid and I would find it unlikely that he's mixed up in something nefarious. Any suggestions?

He was last seen in a Silver 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Pickup Truck license plate.

Arizona plates CRF 9682

Job Wallace 7/28/1999

This was the photo that was taken as he drove through the check point. It appears someone is in the back seat of the car.

Unless he knew it took a picture at the crossing and is trying to hide from someone, id say someone else is driving his vehicle.

Praying he is okay and only someone stole his truck and nothing else happened

OP you said border patrol check point on I10. I read that as he wasn't crossing the border into Mexico, but went through a border patrol checkpoint on I10, meaning he is still in the U.S.

Or am I missing something?

You are correct. As far as we know he's still in the USA.

Border patrol check point I10 east bound 9am at Ft. Hancock. East of El Paso.

Looks like whoever is driving is trying to conceal, but at the same time, as grainy as the photo is, the jawline/chin and arm look like it could be his.

That's what I thought too, or at the very least there's nothing there that would rule out it being him.

I see that too now. What a frustrating thing it must be for the parents to actually get a picture and then have it come out like that where a million different scenarios could be playing out.

I just think his own arm is up. If someone is in the back seat, that is a long way to be behind a seat, still reach the steering wheel, and have your reach be so long that the wrist/hand can that far forward past the wheel, all without any of the rest of you being seen.

The grainy cause some weird effect. But regardless, the wrist and hand look past the wheel. That is a helluva long reach to make that happen from a backseat. And with a bent arm.

Do you know something? He's such a good kid. Tried to get into the corps at A&M, but wasn't accepted. They wanted him to do Team Blinn first. He decided to enlist at that point.

Man that picture creeps me out for some reason. Way the arm is disproportionate and how the hand is just hanging there. More likely if driver was covering face you'd see elbow at 90 degrees or close to. Hope everything turns out alright.

When I first looked at it, it looked like he was sitting at a weird angle. Then it definitely looked like an arm coming over his shoulder from behind. Just now I looked at it after taking my glasses off and the phone close to my face. It actually does look more like his arm now. It looks like he is sitting with his hip up against the door, leaning to his right, and his left arm cocked way up. Kind of an odd way to hold the wheel but with a little different look at it, I think it is his arm.

I actually think the driver is leaned up real close to the steering wheel in a semi slumped position with hands low on the wheel almost allowing individual behind him to reach over. That's what makes it creepy I guess it's hard to determine one way or another.

Probably asking the obvious, but what happens when you call his cell phone? Rings with no answer, straight to voicemail?

Law enforcement can work with cell carriers to pull real time location data based on towers the phone registers on, assuming the phone is powered on.

It looks like he is sitting really far up towards the steering wheel, almost like he is sitting in someone's lap who is reaching around him steering the car. Definitely weird...

Exactly how I see it. And contrast in color between arm and hand could indicate sleeve tattoo. Or depth/distance effect of the flash.

Man, this doesn't look good. I pray I'm wrong, but that photo looks way off to me & my creepy radar is pretty spot on. I look forward to the possibility of positive updates, but I have a terrible feeling about this one.

Don't you have to stop, roll down the windows at check points? Wouldn't BP have looked in the vehicle and asked if everyone is a US citizen?
