I know we get puppy searches here often, but most I have seen are geared towards pedigree or started gun dogs. I'm looking for neither. This will be a family pet- so I'm not really looking to drop 2K on something with bloodlines.

A recommendation for anyone you have used who is trustworthy and affordable would be appreciated. Im in no hurry, more just wanting to make some calls and start some research (which I know are famous last words- we'll have a dog by Christmas with that attitude, ha ha).

Or, if anyone hears if a litter of chocolates, give me a heads up.

I dont have any leads, but was in your exact spot a year ago looking for a chocolate lab that would be a family dog and didnt want to spend a ton. It took me a few months but we got lucky and finally got one after someone backed out last minute. You can find one just dont give up. Best dogs ever.

Humane Society/Pound?

We are getting a chocolate from these guys. These are English style, short and blocky head. They are located north of Denton. Mine will be mostly a pet with occasional dove hunting. We are getting the first male out of the Moose and Puff litter. They are only charging $1,200.
