About to buy a pop up camper trailer and the guy at the dealership made me swear that I would get the trailer insured separately from my vehicle. I'm buying it outright so the guy has no interest in how I insure it one way or another. Is there any reason to do this rather than just add it on to my auto policy? According to insurance agent it would be covered in tow, in use, or in storage this way.

Add to auto policy, I did mine through Allstate with my other 2 vehicles. It's only $20/month for mine

20 a month seems high I insure my 32 foot travel trailer with State Farm aka myself for 13 a month
