Saw that on the news this morning in San Antonio. I hope they get this contained and folks stay safe.
The report I saw had the Harris County Judge on giving a statement. How does she balance the job of County Judge of the most populous county in the state with cheer leading practice, getting ready for prom, her research paper and everything else that goes with being a high school student? Holy crap Harris County, were there no grown ups that ran for the office?

I've been told by my contacts in the area that it smells worse than usual

Not sure what you are getting at, but I would expect similar scenarios in places like cushing, ok, Beaumont/PA, or lake Charles and Baton Rouge

Driving down I10 on sunday I could see the smoke for miles around 12:30. What a mess.

Just watched the nbc local news update. The new county judge took the last question in Spanish and answered in Spanish. Several minutes back and forth. So see she is good for something.
Re: the harris county judge. You can thank the straight ticket dem voters for that one. Shame on the Texas legislature for not getting rid of that sooner, and shame on all the people who voted straight democrat because they wanted to vote for Beto and his Whataburger graphic design team. If you want Beto as a senator, that's your prerogative, but please don't take down the county and our criminal justice system with it.

Smelled really nasty in Greenway Plaza area yesterday but luckily the winds have shifted and it's quite a bit better now. Although from my office it looks like it is trailing north now. This stuff can't be good to breathe, but hopefully short term exposure isn't very harmful.
You could see it from Waller, coming down 290 on Sunday, when we were headed from CS to go see George Strait. It looked then, like it was nasty. I cannot imagine living with a few miles of that place at the moment. It's crazy to me that it couldn't be contained and has spread to other tanks. Being in charge of stopping that kind of event must be hell.
