Off to Salt Lake City (we may go to Idaho though, not sure) for some ducks! I'm at the Austin airport and have to say that was the fastest I've ever gone from parking to gate. Not a single person in the X-ray machine area. This is a 3 day adventure so expect a lot of exciting pictures and stories. I'm meeting a dog training buddy that lives there and knows some great hunting areas, so hopefully it's a success and we get more than my usual 1 duck/hunt. Starting the trip off right.

They literally only have 2 beers: Ultra and Bud Light. No Miller. No Shiner. This is unacceptable, but oh well.

It'll get better. Idk. Utah is Mormon land so idk the alcohol situation, but I'm staying optimistic. We may be in southern Idaho by dark. We'll see.

I was recently in Park City and the booze was as easy to come by as anywhere else. I wouldn't worry too much.

SE Idaho is heavily Mormon as well. If you are around Twin, that moderates a bit.

And the good news is that Utah changed their liquor laws and you don't have to do that "join a club" BS to buy a beer in a bar or restaurant.

We will probably be on the Snake River or something like that possibly. I shot my elk around Firth and we will be fairly close to there I think.

Flight delays suck! I hope you get out of there tonight. Airlines run on some of the coolest technology but their business processes seem to be designed by some of the biggest morons.

Yep, Alaska Airlines wasn't too happy when they found the spyderco I had left in my waders in my carryon. Sure sucked having to toss that in the bin.

It's not Great Salt Lake. That was the thing you flew over the last couple hundred yards before you landed. More likely Deer Creek or Echo Reservior?
