Has anyone shot an elk on here with a 6.5?

Seems plenty capable and I love the round in my Bergara, but I'm not humping it over the mountains with an 11lb rifle. I know it's all about shot placement and have shot deer, a 250 Catalina goat, and a 290lb Aoudad with the 6.5 and it was very effective.

If the .308 is sufficient for elk (which I believe it is) the 6.5 should be as well, right?

Rem bdl 30.06 or another 7mag

Winchester Model 70 Featherweight 25-06. Scoped with a Leupold VX3i 3-9x40.

Savage model 99 in .243.

That's what I have, and what I would use if I ever got back into deer hunting. The lever action makes it more fun to shoot.

No. 1 had it but someone decided they needed it more than me.

I have the 99 in .308 but .243 would be awesome.

Right now I want one of those Winchester 70s Cabelas commemoratives in .257 Roberts. I almost bought one a few years ago when they were in stock but didn't. Actually went back and it was gone. Havent seen one again but will buy the first one I see as long as it is priced right for whatever condition its in. It was the nicest WInchester 70 I have seen post 64.

I want a Sako 85 Hunter in 6.5 Swede left handed. Unlike almost all of my other rifles I don't mind this not being a high gloss blued rifle. I would use it a lot. I shoot left handed(unless you are the unfortunate doe I dropped a few years ago right handed cause I was stuck in a tight spot) but don't own a left handed bolt action rifle.

Wouldn't mind a JM Marlin in .444 Marlin. Passed on one at a Bedford Pawn shop a few years ago. Shouldn't have.

Lets see. What else.

I have looked at Montana Rifle Company several times. I don't own anything bigger than a .300H&H and don't shoot anything bigger than a 30-06.. If I ever get something bigger I might get one of their rifles. Or splurge for a Cooper. I probably wouldn't ever get anything bigger than a .300 Win Mag. They make some nice ones.

I also want the Remington 700 Classic in .250 Savage. I have one in .300 Savage and .300 H&H(Havent shot either)

Or one of the Savage commemoratives a few years ago in .250 Savage.

I could go on...
