Saturday afternoon my brother-in-law found cheap tickets for direct flights from DFW to Reykjavk. They were really too cheap to pass up so we bought a half dozen. Has anyone on here fished with a guide there? My b-i-l fly fishes and by the time we go my wife will have had some lessons (I bought her some for her Bday). We will also want to go on an offshore or bay charter too.

Hopefully the well travelled OB has some experience there.

Did whale watching in husavik, gotta be good fishing there if you are planning to be in the area.

I emailed a half dozen outfitters a few months back before our trip got derailed. Other than prices, I don't know that any of my info would be worthwhile.

I'm looking at a map. There seems to be two towns with that name. One is on the north coast and the other is almost due southeast from it on the southeastern coast. Which one were you whale watching from? I'm looking at maybe doing one or two nights in a guesthouse that in that general area.

$399 round trip. Nonstop. American Airlines.

I went last spring. Very cool place. Pricey though.

I know right? That is why it took us less than 10 minutes to make the decision to buy them. Most of the debate was "take the kids or no". I wanted no kids on the trip, wife wanted them. She won.

Normally we research a trip well in advance and THEN buy the tickets. Now I find myself almost scrambling to find lodging, make a reasonable itinerary, etc. But we will have a good time!!
