Location- Northwest Austin. This has been going on for weeks but has gotten much worse in the last few days. I need to set a trap but don't know what i'm trapping.

Most likely a possum. I had the same issue last year, and that's what wound up in my Havahart... 4 times.

Welp, herein lies the problem. It's a possum, armadillo, or skunk, and I don't want to catch a skunk, and I think the armadillo catching is different than an opossum. Am I wrong about that?

Armadillo. Put trap right in front of the hole.

I have one doing the same thing in my yard up here in Dallas. It was living in my neighbors yard but he but a big rock over the hole late at night and so it moved to my house. I'm close to getting some of those quiet .22 rounds, getting real old real fast.

That's an armadillo. go out at night with a flashlight and a net/bat ( depending on your mood) and go get it! They are nearly blind and it is pretty easy to sneak up on them if you are really quiet.

Set your alarm for about 3 am. Grab armadillo by the tail and throw as high in the air as you can.

From looks of it I bet there's two of them.

I had armadillos do very similar damage to my landscaping. I sprayed for grubs and spread some powdered coyote urine in the flower beds and they stopped coming to my yard.

I just sprayed for grubs too just below that spot in the grass. Still a little rooting in there too. I dont where to catch the ****er, I filled that hole in and he hasnt redug it.

I've heard a couple of times that you could set an alarm for 3am, grab it by the tail and throw it high in the air.

I have the same thing just under my foundation like the 2nd pic. It almost looks like something dug a hole and burried down inside. That pic's hole and mine seem to go much further down than an armadillo would dig.

Instead of predators urine I create a perimeter of my own urine. Neighborhood dogs cower when they catch my scent. Possums play possum at first whiff.

It certainly isn't the least of my concerns, but I've got a lot of work to do, I know. It's only been mine for 4 weeks. Give me some breathing room.

I am sitting up at night hunting my armademons. Grass destroying. I hate them so I shoot them.

A friend told me about this trap and said he caught 5 in two weeks.

Yeah I'm getting one of those. I'm pretty sure I caused the problem by clearing out a **** ton of brush on a part of the property that was wild. It's got to be a dillo
