Smoke smell on hands

So I occasionally do some ribs, chicken, shoulder smoking and always get the smoky smell from the meat on my hands.

I can wash them with dish soap, etc but nothing seems to take the smell out. Anyone have any tips on getting the smoke smell off your fingers/hands?

You might try rubbing the smell off on another body part. Could even create a nice ancillary benefit.

I love to fire up the smoker. I usually wear ratty clothes until about 30 minutes before guests come over, and take a shower at that time. I don't want to feel like my smoky odor will turn people off while hanging out.

When I process a deer or when we make sausage, my hands get permeated with meat smell. It's nice for a day but after that it's pretty bad.

Cutting a lemon in half and scrubbing with that helps mask it. I've heard that using a sugar/salt scrub will also work, never tried it though.

I do know that peppermint or lemon oil will also mask it for a period of time, but you'll end up smelling like one of those essential oil people.

Washing hands and going over the surfaces with a piece of steel (like a butter knife or you can buy a piece of metal crafted for this purpose) can help reduce odors like onion and garlic on skin. Might help for smoke smell. Not efficient for the whole body tho.

Using Baking Soda will work along with soap. Baking Soda and GOJO

Pour gasoline all over your hands. It will take the smoke smell away instantly.

Real answer: mouthwash. The alcohol in listerine will act as a solvent to pull the smell out of skin. Gasoline or metyletyleketone or acetone all do the same thing too.

Dawn, Baking Soda, and Hydrogen Peroxide is my go to for removing fish smell. Might work.
