Does anybody have good recommendations for a meat hunt in Texas? In my assessment, the best eating comes from Axis deer and nilgai. Anybody have recommendations for reasonably priced doe/cow hunts for either?

King ranch for nilgai- I think it is $2500 for a bull and a cow. That is a lot of meat.

Bull? AND a cow? Wow. Great eats. But man, do they throw in a free freezer? Or two....

Split between a couple of families, not bad at all!

Obviously it's not a certainty, but there are still draw hunts you can enter for in Texas. A few of em have unlimited Nilgai.

Even if ya do get drawn, not sure how likely ya are to get one, but its an option. Maybe someone who has had experience with those units can chime in.

ETA: Deadline for those is Oct 15th. TPWD page for them here

Watch the texashuntingforum exotics section. Occasionally someone will have a fire sale. A buffalo for a thousand, blackbuck does for 150, things like that.
